Den første hovedperson er Cecil Ganies. Han har igennem sin barndom, oplevet at se sin far blive skudt. Efterhånden som han blev ældre, fik han job, som butler.

Jeg ser Cecil Gaines, som en mand med respekt og pli i livet. Han opdrager sine børn til det samme, men de vælger at gå i en anden retning. Cecil er en mand med ære i behold, men vil gerne have ligestilling. Han henvender sig 2 gange for at ville snakke om hans løn.
