the beach handler om tre personer der prøver at finde en ø hvor der er et fælleskab i en skov og ved siden er stranden. de har hørt at denne ø er et paradis. men der er ikke så mange mennesker der må vide at der er et fælleskab på denne ø. de tre kommer igennem vanskeligheder på vej dertil men kommer igennem dem. der er en slags bande på øen også og de tillader ikke at der kommer flere mennesker på øen. Richard som er hovedpersonen bliver forelsket i hans vens kæreste og de kommer sammen. noget tid efter dukker Richards venner op på en ø på den anden side af havet. det ender med at Richard skal få dem væk fra øen men det lykkedes ikke banden dræbte Richards venner og de resterende mennesker på øen blev smidt ud af den
