Til konklusion, mener jeg at denne novelle har til grundlag at fortælle os læser, at det hele i denne verden handler ikke om hvordan ”perfekt” er det er meget på hvordan folk definer det fra person til person.
De forsøger at komme ude med et budskab, at alle mennesker er ikke ”perfekte” at alle har deres svage og stærke sider, hvor nogle er bedre end andre til skjule deres dårlige sider, og til modsætning andre ser op til andre, har opnået eksempel i denne novelle, at Bill og Arlene ser op til deres Naboer at de alt og at de ikke er perfekte.
Novellens konkrete budskab er at, man skal være lykkelig med det man har og leve livet.
